- Sean Mendes admits he struggles with the pressure of his comparison of “sexy” shoots.
The hitmaker, who previously undressed for the Calvin Klein campaign, revealed that he suffers from “body dysmorphism” and tries to be that person all the time. Speaking to Wonderland magazine, he said: “I was shirtless on a billboard. Any photo of you being generally ‘sexy’ can mess with your soul as you struggle to fit in with this guy daily.
“The lighting is there; you have the make-up and the hairstyling. People are there to make you look great.
“But realistically, these men’s shoes don’t fit this image – not even like this man.” Sean — who only shows his humility to post with an acoustic guitar — notes that it’s impossible to compare yourself to others “to be honest with everyone.”
He added, “It’s interesting because I know there are a lot of difficulties in comparative culture. “For me, it’s important to say that as the person in the photo, I can’t be the person in the photo. “So finding this person isn’t fair to anyone.”
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old singer, who is with Camilla Cabello, admitted that she had warned her partner not to get too excited after a photo shoot because he insisted he couldn’t “live with this man.” She said, “I run from photos like, ‘Damn, these photos are great, but I can’t handle this guy!'”
“And that was the first thing I said to him, and he completely understood it.” Sean is now in therapy twice a week – while trying “various types” – to cope with his struggles. She explained, “You have to be open and understand that sometimes you get confused. “Then you start to make serious progress.”
