- WATCH THEM TEST MADE, JIMMY FALON SING IT AS A CHALLENGE
The Jonas Brothers played various cover versions with different comedic vocal impressions at Jimmy Fallon’s Sing It Like Challenge on Monday (July 20).
In The Tonight starring Jimmy Fallon, the host kicks off a fun game by covering Gotye’s “Someone I Knew” but sings it “as if you just put rubber on your suspenders.” as if he was walking on hot coals and hitting high notes as if it was painful. Then Nick sings “Good 4 U” by Olivia Rodrigo, but his tongue is pricked, so it’s almost incomprehensible. Finally, Kevin Creed sings “Open Hands” to convey a secret message with his eyes in an intense voice.
The brothers ended the challenge with the trio performing their own hit “Sucker” – like animator Chuck E. Cheese. Kevin wears a mask while playing a small bass guitar that looks like it was made for children; Joe brings an action figure in front of the camera while playing his acoustic guitar.
Joe, Kevin, and Nick also appeared on the Tonight Show to promote their upcoming Olympic dream with the Jonas Brothers. As the US Olympic team prepares for the Olympics and the Tokyo Opening Ceremony, the Jonas Brothers compete in their games, including track and field, gymnastics, and BMX biking.
“We had the opportunity to pretend to be Olympic athletes for about a week and about a day and train with great athletes for about a day and then actually compete,” Kevin said. “And they recorded it for the audience at home to make us laugh.”
Nick broke his ribs during filming and insists he’s “much better.” “It’s not very interesting,” he admits. He explained that real Olympic athletes were coaching them and the brothers felt confident at first as the coach claimed that the BMX bikes were set for the difficulty level for an 11-year-old. However, they are spared the knowledge that the athlete has been training in BMX for 3 or 4 years and is an expert.
The premiere of “Special Olympic Dreams” will take place tonight at 8:00 pm. ET/PT from NBC and Peacock. The uniqueness of the Olympic athletes who coached the brothers: Sidney McLaughlin and Sanya Richards-Ross on the track, Lori Hernandez and Nastya Lukin in gymnastics, and Alcy Willoughby in BMX cycling.
