The 34-year-old actor played a fighter in the 2018 original. He promised that director Ryan Kugler and his cast would be working on “something extraordinary” after the tragic death of Chadwick Bozeman – who played the superhero in the first film.
Speaking to Collider, Winston said, “Reading the script was very emotional. It was emotional packing to be back on set. But now we are all a small family, and we are grieving and doing something special together.”

“One thing I’ve heard from my short time here on earth is that it’s complicated to have perspective on something while experiencing it. “This is one of the most profound things I’ve ever experienced in my life, and I have to be a part of keeping this project going without a certain person who is like glue holding it together.”
